In third temple news, a practice burning of a blemished red heifer was conducted in Samaria this last week. This one was red but for two black hairs. In 2019 another cow sacrifice was conducted with a sick Baladi breed.

Apparently there are many engineering challenges with burnt offerings such as:

• How much wood to use and of what mix of species

• The amount of ash produced by different native species of wood

• The correct ratio of ash to ritual water

• The volume of ritual water required to purify in preparation for the 3rd temple

Why is the red heifer sacrifice important?

Many believe the red heifer purification ritual must be conducted before the third temple can be rebuilt. Once the third temple is built all sorts of wild shit kicks off.

The concerning part isn’t the rabbis saying it, its that 2.4 billion Christians and 1.8 billion Muslims believe some variation on this theme. So buckle up Dorothy, if you thought covid was fake and gay, you’ll just love The End Times. With covid, all we got for preconditioning was a bunch of stupid zombie and contagion movies. End times is straight from the bible.

Some people get mad at Jews about this which is counter productive. Yes some ancient Jews cobbled together the stories from various myths and ultimately this led to the fall of Rome and the rise of Christianity and Islam. But at this point the story has a life of its own - it’s a meme. And the gentiles are supposed to be mean to the Jews in the End Times, this is what leads to the “ingathering of the exiles” in the story. So by raging at them on the internet, you are just reinforcing the meme.

Selling the farm

In other news, my 98 year Grandpa passed this June. Obviously often when people get old they die. So that part wasn’t unexpected. Thankfully, it happened at home, in his own bed, and surrounded by family. The part I was bracing for was my mom and my aunt auctioning off what remains of the farm.

Selling the farm is one of those bitter things for me. As the years have gone by I have realized that row crop farmer would have been my preferred occupation and life path, not corporate engineer drone. So hearing that my grandpa offered to farm with my dad when I was a kid and was turned down, stings. As does selling what remains of it.

The sale of the equipment happened years ago when my Grandpa retired from farming. What’s at stake now is the farmland. Grandpa had two renters, both of whom my mom and aunt have known their entire lives. The one farming the majority of it is a big no till guy. There’s no guarantee that if the land goes to auction, either of them will be able to continue farming it.

I just can’t understand building generational wealth, then liquidating it to have more ones and zeros on a computer somewhere. Stocks and investments are not real wealth.

You’re not supposed to say blood and soil (Blut und Boden). Maybe it’s less offensive if you call it family and land. But it’s hard not to see my Grandpa’s soil as linked to his spirit as his blood. And the older I get, the more I realize that those are the only two things I really care about.

Interestingly enough, blood and soil is enshrined into Texas and other state law through the IHRA’s working definition of antisemitism.

Well now I have my own blood and soil. Like my Grandpa I am good at accumulating wealth. And I’m determined to do a better job than the Boomers at understanding its importance.

Sniffing PVC glue

I’m building our house myself without debt. You’d think people would think this is cool but the main question I get is “when will you be done?” or comments like “you’ve got a lot left”. OK, boomer.

Right now I’m finishing the sub slab plumbing, which means lots of Oatey Blue Lava PVC glue, primer and cleaner. I hate the stuff - even with the best airflow and respirator it always leaves my head with that yucky swimming feeling.

People take PVC plumbing for granted. It is far superior to its predecessors in both performance and cost. It’s a modern miracle that you can buy all these fittings and pipe with a super smooth surface, that don’t rust, can be cut with hand tools, molded to tolerances of a couple thousandth of an inch, that can make water-tight joints with solvent welding, for something like $5-10 each. Effective plumbing is the backbone of our civilization.

I hear all this hype about AI and how it will revolutionize industry. Can your super smart AI tell me how I cut the ends of this PVC pipe perfectly perpendicular with the reciprocating saw in the picture? I know AI doesn’t know because Reddit didn’t know and that’s where AI gets its training data.

Often I research technical matters with the google search engine. And it brings up the Gemini AI answer. Which is always wrong. Usually in a significant but subtle way.

So in the future, not only will we have AI slop for entertainment trained on the lame culture of the 2010s, but nobody will know the right or best ways to build anything. Because before the Boomers died, they didn’t bother to share their tricks with anyone.

LLM AI is really at its best when the output doesn’t have to be right 100% of the time. So for things like replacing HR departments or deciding which parts of humanity to cull, it’s great!

Other musings

Everything that’s happening now is happening because of the choices of individuals. Its not because of some grand conspiracy of DMT forest elves reading Kabbalah magic spells on the dark side of Nibiru’s moon.

It’s because we:

• Gave up on male leadership

• Stopped rewarding physical work and skills

• Moved away from our land and towns

• Took on debt

There is a they and they already know who you are. They have a list and you’re on it. Everyday they ask the sentient world simulation whether or not they can just eliminate everyone on the list without any blowback from the ones who remain. So far the answer is no. Your choices are the only thing that can change that answer.

It’s a lot of work and stress being a leader worth following. It’s hard learning how to do all this stuff myself. I’m tired and normal relaxation just doesn’t cut it.

When my time comes, I want to know I was the force keeping our blood and soil together.
